There are three main ways to set up an extended column test (ECT). In this video, Eric Knoff explains one method using two avalanche probes and a long cord to isolate a 90 cm by 30 cm column. This method works best when you have a shallow weak layer or softer slab. It's also the easiest method to use if you're isolating a column by yourself.
