Our Level 1 Avalanche Course is essential in developing the skills necessary to travel safely and confidently in avalanche terrain. This SPAE Level 1 course will be tailored towards snowmobilers/snowbikers.
The three-day course (24 hours) focuses on the Six Points of Avalanche Education: Avalanche terrain, mountain snowpack/weather, avalanche forecast & problems, companion rescue, and decision making. This course consists of both classroom and field sessions; SPAE understands the importance of hands on learning and spends 60-70% of the course in the field. Our Level 1 follows the guidelines set by the American Avalanche Association (AAA). Our instructors are experienced avalanche educators who provide the highest level of instruction. After completion, you will receive a certificate that lists your name, dates of course, & instructors name. This course is a good stepping stone if you decide to pursue more advance training.
